Biofeedback

Visualising patient's efforts with dynamic exercise

Biofeedback is evidenced in the form of a curve of exertion which is displayed in real time according to the progression of movement, allowing to assign a figure and to evidence results. Analysis of curves of movement and measurement of physical dimensions lead to a quantitative approach to movement. The physiotherapist, for example, can in a single analytical movement in isokinetics easily identify the angulation of a lesion or the position of pain.

Providing visual instructions !

The therapist simply chooses the segment or joint that he wishes to work on with the touchscreen and thereby immediately accesses the pre-programmed model exercises with curves of specification for effort, compared to the trajectory of movement. The curve of effort of the exercise chosen will be displayed right on the screen during the exercise.

The screen of the exercise displays in a first phase a curve of the instruction, for which the patient will imitate the form with his own curve, representative in real time of the precise effort that he provides during the movement.

This visual stimulation will have the effect of producing self-correction of the patient, who can anticipate the practitioner's indications. The instruction is understood more quickly and the effort gains in quality, the session becomes increasingly more interactive and motivating.

The patient is encouraged to improve his effort in each movement by over impression of the curve of his actual effort on that of previous repetitions.

The dual visual and oral stimulation can be further reinforced if the practitioner, who is entirely free in his movements, shows on the screen the differences between his specification and the patient's actual effort (for example, a specific angulation) reinforcing even more the benefits of his coaching.

Results of an exercise can be redisplayed right on the screen at any time to conclude a session, to carry out an educational exercise, to compare with a previous session and to show the patient's progress, or to print it for communication.

Access to a diagnosis and quantifiable and precise results in real time.

As both a communications tool and objective quantification of results, biofeedback allows the imaging of a workout, of the change in your patients. Thus, you can enable your patient to visualise his difficulties or his improvements tangibly.

Our device incorporates a database where curves and results obtained in exercises during each session are automatically memorised. Therefore, you will be able to find the patient's previous results to make comparisons between a healthy limb and an injured limb, to establish comparison in histories of sessions indicating the patient's progress (longitudinal follow-up) or to perform comparisons based on type of population or type of disorder (cross-sectional follow-up). Statistical data that are easy to understand (in graph format) can be configured within a few seconds by the practitioners. Each of the statistical data or recorded during an exercise can be retrieved by a USB key.

These quantified results can also be sent to the prescribing doctor, to the health insurance entity or can be used as a support medium for writing articles.
