Performance: practice, control and exceed it
Kinévolution® offers the first product line assessing functional sports movements and its constant training. All three-dimensional-space effort variables can be set and measured (strength, speed, acceleration…). Generally speaking, most athletic injuries, surgeries of the musculoskeletal system, overwork pathology or disuse syndrome come with a performance reduction of musculoskeletal and functional features that can be evaluated and improved with this innovative equipment.
Think sports movement: replicate the muscle-joint chain activity during the training
Sports movement is tied to a functional position and functional motions in space. So why train a football player in a seating position or re-educate a handball player to rehabilitate his/her shoulder in a single plan? Kinévolution® enables a spatial movement with a 3 dimensional freedom in a functional position. The driving behaviour of each sport and each person focuses on the rational movement and is part of sports activities that require the involvement of multiple joints and muscle actions. The movement made by the athlete can integrate not only a spatial situation requiring a single articulation but also a movement association involving proximal and distal articulations. It is then a set of segments that carry the sports movement in a chain system of synergistic actions involving articular and muscular channels. Kinévolution® provides a complete work on the whole channel ; On a throwing motion with the right hand, for example, it is the whole chain (wrist, elbow, shoulder, spine and abdominal muscles, pelvis, knees and ankles) that actually works as fiber bundles requested in posture and athletic movements. The football player shoots by using his supporting leg and the golfer follows the compliant and requests’ sequence from different muscle groups when swinging.
Push yourself: sportsman visualises, thinks ahead and assesses in real time
With Kinévolution® product line, the sportsman can visualise his real-time effort while he is moving so he can modify his movement and improve it simultaneously in order to reach its initial objectives. All motions are recorded, so they can be reviewed at any time. The integrated biofeedback also gives effort, speed and motions information… so patients can re-educate themselves and visualise their progresses and successes. When the physiotherapist uses the isokinetic equipment for a patient, it is recommended to do a series of concentric or eccentric movements (according to all types of possible suits: concentric/passive return, eccentric/eccentric…). The therapist-coach will define the strength, the speed and accelerations, and any other useful information. The sportsman can visualise his effort curve in real time all along the course of his 3D functional movement. He is able to see and modify a possible weak moment or train himself again until he reaches his explosive limits or maintains the torque force throughout the spatial course. At the second round, curves of the previous exercise as well as curves of the current exercise are displayed on the full screen simultaneously. He is then naturally encouraged to improve his score each time by "beating" the previous curve. In effort control mode, the biofeedback allows a vision of what he does and what he should do at the same time. The therapist-coach can choose the relevant exercise (shown as a curve) amongst hundreds of them for his patient. The sportsman sees his effort curve aligned with the chosen curve for the exercise. He can see his mistakes, understands them and fix them. This is an additional exteroceptive information that the sportsman can view, use for his own proprioceptive management control and help understand the movement. It is entertaining and satisfying. Curves, criteria for successful goals, are more qualitative than voice stimuli and can be edited (more effort at a precise moment of the athletic movement, more speed or more amplitude…) from one exercise to another one or from one session to the other one with a simple click, according to the health and energy of the patient at that specific moment, the results of the previous session or the seasonal objectives. The playfulness, the concept of success/mistake and the motivational dimension encourage the athlete to be more involved in the training or re-education. This not only enhances the awareness development of the movement by participating here and now, but also the progression from one session to another. The fact that both the physiotherapist and the athlete visualise the biofeedback screen, it gives the physiotherapist a new way of coaching in real time by sharing accurate results, such as any improvement and any performance and by providing positive feedback.
Measure performances: observe and compare objectives
During any training on Kinévolution®, repeat perfectly the athletic functional movement as if a ball, a racket or a golf club allow you to control the speed and adjust the pressure while ... providing all the objective measures of the effort made! These objectives, accurate and repetitive measurements of motion parameters (movement, speed, acceleration, direction and force pressure) allow you a longitudinal follow-up, a pre and post workout comparison, and a discrimination of central and peripheral fatigue. The immediate visual provides the athlete details on his functional or pathological physiological state. The physiotherapist uses the visual as a support to define his progressive strategies. Thanks to the simple graphics showing the physical development, the physiotherapist has a very good insight on the athlete performance (in newton and in millimeter) during any training and seasonal courses or any changes between seasons. Who is the fastest launcher of your offensive group the week of the game? The positioning repetition (standing or seating) is provided with a positioning platform for laser ranging to chest or back-end support, games straps and calles. Movement reproduction, channels, joints or segments isolation with these anchors are also possible in order to compare the healthy limb with the injured limb or to follow a cross on the same population. Watch the effort development on the same graphic of 3 players doing the same exercise and conclude on the movement trend. Share those graphics in full screen and the experience with your athletes after the training session. The measurement chain of Kinévolution ® is certified by technical laboratories with Cofrac accreditation and went through laboratory studies focusing on accurate and repetitive motion analysis.
Specify your criteria of excellence: Provide specific training guidelines and adjust the speed at 0.0036 km/h!
The manual resistance is naturally subjective, the gravitational resistance (direct and indirect) forced to concentric/eccentric exercises of which we don’t control effort curves or speed, as well as elastic resistance that only offer resistance proportional for stretching... The work of the functional movement is never limited to analytical movement in a single plan allowed by the isokinetic dynamometer of older generations. Why working, during the training session, the right gesture requiring 3 degrees of freedom in space with unfitted effort characteristics to the real needs of sports effort characteristics? Why learning to be accurate when shooting towards a specific direction and train ourselves with equipments that build fiber pathways to be powerful in another direction? With Kinévolution®, the athlete can work on different movements of his/her sporting activity such as the army movement of the upper limb, the shoot of a lower limb, Kabat-type diagonals… By simply setting in a very accurate way all functional components such as the speed (with an accuracy displayed at 1 millimeter/second), the acceleration (with an accuracy displayed at 1 millimeter/second²) or the deceleration, tangential force (with an accuracy displayed at 1 newton), or the radial strength, amplitude, movement time…
More you practice, more you get closer to the perfect physiological sports movement in terms of strength, progress and speed… Kinévolution® enables to define a movement according to phases such as acceleration, speed and deceleration independent of set effort curves. With practice, you can also adjust the optimal strength at the exact point where you need to be accurate…

Reeducation
Kinévolution® enables you to completely rehabilitate a patient, including his functional abilities, endurance and sports performances. Thanks to Kinévolution, therapists can offer a large range of analytical and poly-joint exercises to their athletic patients. Those exercises are close to the athletic movement used during the reintegration of the athlete in active life. Thanks to all physical aspects that the device can measure, enhance your care and service to your patients who are looking for winning their performance back. The functional re-education aims at giving lost movements back to the athlete (traumatology, orthopaedics, rheumatology, neurology). The therapist not only allows the patient to regain his movement but also gives him his functional performance. Its means go through a reactivation of proprioceptors (reconstruction of cerebrovascular muscle connections), and stiffness and pain free in all its shapes, then the operation of recovered freedoms enabling an active and functional movement again. The active physiotherapy can be defined by the implementation of contractile muscular fibers of the athlete, analytically or globally, voluntarily or reflex-automation. The effective techniques hold a very important place at most stages of rehabilitated treatments. They make use of neuro-psychomotor processes of regulation and integration of motor activity, biochemical, biomechanical of moving or fixing skeletal elements. On one hand, the non-joint mobility loses their performance at mechanoreceptors and consequently the regulation effect and adaptation of muscle contractions. On the other hand, muscle involves movement of all joint and non-joint structures in daily activity. This enables to maintain trophic functions and consequently metabolic functions. The recovery of motion and limb function is essential to the general rehabilitation of the athlete in order to regain functional abilities and athletic endurance. In order to improve the management of sports patients Kinévolution® offers opportunities to therapists in terms of assessment, movement recovery and joint mobility maintenance, as well as muscle rehabilitation and prevention.
Working methods
Kinévolution® is a multi-functional equipment and an ‘all-in-one’ concept with 4 different working methods :
- In 3D Isokinetism
- In force control
- In passive mobilisation
- In isometric mode
Isokinetic Mode:
First 3D isokinetic equipment, Kinévolution® allows analytical and functional movements in labor chain to exactly reproduce the athletic movement in the functional position. All effort combinations are possible: eccentric/passive return, concentric/passive return not only to mobilise the agonist chain, but also concentric/eccentric or eccentric/eccentric to improve ratios or to obtain more effective reinforcements or obviously concentric/eccentric… The isokinetic mode includes many configurable innovations according to the physiotherapist choice. For example, if for many years, isokinetic work was focusing on the movement stage at a constant speed, we now know that the most important stages in terms of recruitment are acceleration and deceleration stages, the muscle work being reduced between two stages. With Kinévolution®, it is now possible to completely change the acceleration slope which is independent from the deceleration slope in order to enable the act of throwing with a very fast acceleration and a slow deceleration, or the army movement by configuring a progressive rise of acceleration.
Similarly, to avoid straining fibers at an angulation / amplitude not defined by the physiotherapist, the equipment may not start again even from another spot than the initial one if the movement stops during the exercise, in which case it will bring the athlete’s limb back to the passive mobilisation to repeat the exercise.
Many other innovations will be presented by our team, do not hesitate to contact us ...
Effort Control Mode:
First equipment enabling the simulation of manual resistance objectively and precisely, Kinévolution® provides physiotherapists different effort profiles throughout the movement path in just 3 touch screen clicks, among hundreds of available exercises. Those profiles, for example, can create a growing effort (regardless of speed, also configurable) on the movement and different effort levels depending on the stage of movement’s division, or Davis curves with thresholds of effort avoidance ... The effort curve is automatically displayed in full screen at the beginning of the exercise, so the athlete sees the instructions, understands them and anticipates his effort changes thanks to the results shown on the screen, which are aligned to the initial and real-time target.
Depending on his motivation, the physiotherapist can display an effort lane on the movement path and can even define a safe lane beyond and below whose the movement will automatically be canceled and will then request for a new exercise to start. The biofeedback of this effort control mode is a muscle build-up tool, as well as an important coaching tool available today to therapists focusing on performance.
Passive Mobilisation Mode:
In one of many user configurations, Kinévolution® offers the possibility of passive mobilisation movement with an emphasis on the 3 degrees of joint physiological freedom. The physiotherapist should use his two hands to place the athlete’s joints correctly during the movement to ensure a good exercise.
Isometric Mode:
Held-release series are dynamically shown on the screen according to the time sequence and the physiotherapist can simply change the contraction strength and length as well as the time release in just few clicks, depending on the number of recurrence he chooses.
The biofeedback is also playing an important role here, especially in the cognitive subjection of the athlete who can see his effort curve aligned with the targeted curve. This way, he can analyse his performances in the set position defined by the physiotherapist.
